About me
I am Yoilán García, a photographer specialised in fine art photography.
My work is born from a fascination with light, form and the power of an image to stir emotion without the need for words. I work primarily in black and white as a visual language because it strips away the incidental and directs the gaze towards the essential: emotion, texture and symbolism.
Through the human figure, landscape, architecture and street photography, I develop a minimalist, conceptual body of work that invites the viewer to contemplate the world from a slower, more introspective perspective.
Each photograph represents a constant search for balance between aesthetics and meaning, with the intention of creating images that transcend the documentary and remain alive as time passes.
My work
Each of my photographs is conceived as a work of art.
I do not seek merely to depict reality, but to interpret it through light, composition and silence. My creative process combines observation, sensitivity and meticulous editing to build images capable of conveying emotion, raising questions and bringing serenity to the spaces where they are contemplated.
Most of my work unfolds in black and white, though certain series embrace colour when it forms part of the expressive language of the image.
